City Government is Investigating BRIN's Findings on Microplastics in Rainwater

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said that Jakarta Provincial Government is studying deeply regarding National Research and Innovation Board (BRIN)'s finding on microplastic in rainwater.

"We're studying the BRIN's finding on microplastic in rainwater deeply," said Pramono, Tuesday (10/21).

Pramono asked Head od Environmental Agency to announce the study and research result in the near time.

Central Jakarta Continues Environmental Arrangement

"I have asked the head of environmental agency to announce the research result soon," he added.

Previously, BRIN discovered dangerous microplastic particles in rainwater in the Jakarta area. These particles originate from human activity in urban areas.

Besides containing microplastic particles, rainwater also contains various other pollutants. Therefore, BRIN reminds the public not to consume rainwater directly without multiple filtration methods.
