Commission D: No Effect of Budget Efficiency on Public Service

Jakarta City Council Commission D continued the working meeting to discuss the Draft City Budget (APBD) 2026, following adjustments to Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH) from the central government.

Jakarta City Council Commission D Chairwoman, Yuke Yurike conveyed that her party wants to ensure that the reductions, efficiencies, and refocusing of the budget conducted by the partner do not decrease services to the community.

"We started the meeting to discuss the Draft APBD 2026 after the DBH adjustment," she expressed, at the City Council building, Thursday (10/23).

He emphasized that this is important because the fields within the scope of Commission D are vital to the lives of Jakarta residents, ranging from flood control, road repairs, waste management, housing, to the provision of green open spaces.

"We want to ensure what the refocusing of our partner is. Earlier, we were assured by the Development Assistant that fundamental programs directly related to the community are being made efforts to remain unaffected," he explained.

He cited, one form of adjustment occurred at the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Agency (CKTRP), where several development plans such as Transportation Sub-agency and Satpol PP building experienced delays.

"Some developments have been postponed. There are also multi-year projects, and some have been forced to be canceled this year," she explained.

She asserted, the main focus is to ensure that development with a direct impact on the community continues, especially those affecting the economy and job creation.

"We also push the government to maximize regional revenue potential," she continued.

According to her, the implementation of digitization systems and increased transparency is expected to help optimize regional revenue as one of the solutions to offset the reduction in budget from DBH.

"This can also be an alternative source of regional income that can serve as a solution amid these budget cuts," he stated.
