Jakarta Women's Badminton Wins Team Gold at POPNAS

After falling behind and losing the first set, Jakarta's second women's singles player, Berly Ayudus, finally defeated Miftaqul P from East Java in the women's team badminton final at the National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) XVII at Tanjung Priok Sport Hall (GOR), North Jakarta.

The victory also secured the victory for the Jakarta women's team and the right to win the gold medal. The third match, which would feature a doubles game, was canceled as it no longer affected the outcome.

Before winning the match, Ayudus was trailing and lost the first set with a score of 11-21. Then, in the second set, she managed to turn the situation around to 21-8 and completed the victory with a 21-15 score in the third set.

In the first singles, Kavitha N Aulia performed excellently, defeating her opponent Aubertha Z. After winning 21-18 in the first set, she was able to close out her opponent from East Java Province with a score of 21-15 in the second set.

Jakarta's Badminton Contingent Manager, Mat Hair, expressed satisfaction with her team's performance, which has demonstrated dedication and effort. Since the beginning of the selection process, they had been consistently showing their best performance.

"Before winning this final match, they managed to overcome Central Java," he stated.

He hoped that the badminton sport could win another medal from the men's team event against East Java.

"Earlier this morning, they also defeated their opponents from Central Java. Hopefully, the team from East Java can win as well," he stated.
