Hundreds of Joint Personnel Clean Sidewalk of Jalan Jatinegara Timur

As many as 200 joint personnel cleaned the sidewalk along Jalan Jatinegara Timur, Balimester, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Friday (11/7).

Head of Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, Heru Suwondo said this activity is routinely conducted in five city administration areas. 

"This is also an education for the public so that they also care about sidewalks," he said.

Heru appealed to the public to help maintain assets built by the local government so that they look good and can continue to be comfortable to use.

"The public should also maintain the sidewalks," he added.

Head of East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency, Benhard Hutajulu stated today's activity involved 200 joint personnel of Bina Marga Agency, Fire Handling and Rescue Agency, City Park and Forestry Agency, and Transportation Agency.

"The cleaning was started from Jalan Jatinegara Barat 1 intersection up to Kampung Melayu Terminal," he stated.

Head of Jatinegara District, Endang Kartika appreciated the sidewalk cleaning activity. She hopes similar activities can be held in other areas.

"We appeal the residents for not using sidewalk as parking lot. Surely we will control it," she ensured.
