SMAN 72 Students Undergo Trauma Healing through Online Learning

Strict security measures by the relevant authorities are still being implemented at SMAN 72 Jakarta on Jalan Prihatin, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-district, North Jakarta, following the explosion that occurred last Friday (10/7).

Every night my child still cries remembering that incident

Students who are in good health today are participating in the remote learning policy or studying from home with trauma healing material.

One of the parents, Djumiaty Hatong (50), confirmed that her child named Bunga (17) is in Grade XI and currently participating in online learning. Through parental guidance, materials on recovery and mental preparation for students before returning to school were provided.

"Earlier, I attended an online Zoom meeting with my child, and she also participated in the Heroes' Day ceremony online," she expressed, Monday (10/11).

She explained that her child experienced trauma because, at the time of the incident, they had just finished attending a women's event next to the mosque. Even, her child even suffered hearing impairment as a result of the explosion.

"Every night my child still cries remembering that incident, recalling her friends who were hurt," she explained.

He added that online trauma healing education is very helpful for his child and other students. This proves the government's concern.

"Hopefully, such an incident will not happen again, and children can participate in learning activities as usual. I will continue to support my child until the trauma is healed and they can return to school calmly, safely, and comfortably," she explained.

Meanwhile, Aufa Ahmad Shodiq's parent, Ugi Abdurahman (55), from Class X at SMAN 72, said that his child is still receiving treatment at Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital (RSI), so he cannot participate in online learning for trauma healing.

"My child is still in the hospital because his condition is quite severe and requires surgery. Alhamdulillah (thank God), he is now conscious, so he is still receiving treatment. He cannot participate in school activities yet," he explained.

North Jakarra PPAPP Sub-agency Head, Ferlina Kirtiasih added, her party has also provided a fleet of Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA) vehicles within the school environment for the public.

This car is on standby to provide psychological support to students, teachers, and their families present. Even, it is also allowed for locals affected and in need of free counseling.

"This service is planned to continue until November 14," she stated.
