Fire on Jalan Salihara Successfully Extinguished

"We deployed 15 firetrucks with 59 personnel to the scene," he said, Tuesday (11/11).

According to him, the personnel successfully handled the fire at 10:10 AM. Then it continued with the cooling process.

He added that even though the fire was under control, the thick smoke caused by the flammable materials and the location on the upper floor meant that the cooling process took quite a long time.

"The cooling process lasted approximately three hours. The fire handling was declared complete at 3:30 PM. There were no fatalities," he added.

Herman, a local resident, admitted he saw smoke coming from the third floor of the burning textile store. Thick smoke was also seen billowing from the store.

"Employees tried to go in to check, but there was already thick smoke on the second floor, so employees couldn't go in any further," he admitted.
