Regional Budget 2026 Approved, Pramono Ensures No Food Subsidy Cuts

The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, confirmed that the Jakarta Provincial Government will not cut the food subsidy budget by Rp 300 billion in the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) 2026.

Regional Budget 2026 Discussion Plenary Session to Be Held Wednesday

It was stated by Pramono during the Plenary Meeting of the Jakarta City Council with the agenda of conveying the Governor's final opinion on the Draft Regional Budget Regulation 2026, Wednesday (11/12).

"Regarding food subsidies in the city budget, I immediately stated that there were no cuts for that," he stated.

Pramono emphasized that food subsidies are one of the priority programs for the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"If changes are still needed, we will certainly make them in the Revised Regional Budget. However, it is clear that there will be no cuts," he added.

In the meeting, the Jakarta City Council gave its approval to the Draft Regional Budget Regulation for the 2026 Fiscal Year. Pramono also appreciated the City Council leaders and members for their thoroughness in reviewing the Draft Regional Budget Regulation for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

The Governor stated that the council's various suggestions and recommendations would be important notes for the executive branch to follow up on.

Regarding the draft regional regulation on the formation, change of names, boundaries and elimination of districts and urban villages, Pramono said that this draft regional regulation was submitted as mandated by Article 7 paragraph (2) of Law Number 2 of 2024 about the Special Region of Jakarta Province (DKJ Law).

"The Jakarta Provincial Government has drafted this regional regulation to provide legal certainty regarding the arrangement of administrative areas in the Special Region of Jakarta Province, in accordance with the delegation of authority granted by the law," he said.

This draft regional regulation is also prepared in order to align the development of government, development, and the community's need for good public services, as well as support the implementation of orderly government administration and legal certainty.

Pramono hopes that the spirit of partnership and synergy that has been well established between the City Council and the Jakarta Provincial Government can continue to be strengthened to produce various strategic and beneficial work programs for the community.
