Pramono Launches Communal Septic Tank Installation in Pasar Rebo

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung inaugurated Communal Septic Tank Installation with Biogas Utilization at Delta Alley, RT 4/8, Pekayon Urban Village, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Thursday (11/13).

This is also very helpful economically

Pramono appreciates the East Jakarta area which is now free from the practice of open defecation (BABS) by utilizing integrated sanitation facilities like this.

New Toilet and Septic Tank Facilities Inaugurated in Kampung Bali

"I already saw the facilities," he said.

According to him, the communal septic tank installation offers numerous benefits to residents, primarily because they no longer rely on LPG for cooking. This also provides economic benefits.

"This is also very helpful economically, as previously calculated for a family with one or two children, it can save up to Rp 1.2 million per year. It has a very positive impact," he added.

According to him, this communal septic tank program is part of an effort to strengthen Jakarta's position as a global city committed to environmental sustainability.

In addition to improving sanitation quality, Pramono continued, this communal septic tank also plays an important role in maintaining the health of residents because it significantly suppresses Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria.

"Hopefully, we will handle similar problem in other cities, so that it can be like in East Jakarta, where open defecation rates can reach 0 percent," he hoped.
