Park Supervision on Jalan Daan Mogot Being Tightened

West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto, instructed related parties to intensify monitoring and supervision in the park areas along Jalan Daan Mogot, Cengkareng Sub-district.

According to him, several steps to anticipate negative actions have been done through the West Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency (Tamhut), Satpol PP, and local urban village sides.

"I have asked the urban village head to participate in supervising and monitoring together with related parties," he expressed, Tuesday (11/18).

He explained, routine monitoring is also requested to be carried out by the Satpol PP, from 8 PM to 12 PM, to ensure the safety of the park area.

He also asked the Bina Marga Sub-agency to add street light so that the park area does not appear dark and to reduce the potential for negative actions.

"I have coordinated to turn the parks along Jalan Daan Mogot into interactive parks. Thus, the parks will be more open, bright, and beneficial for the locals for positive activities such as sports, recreation, or relaxation," he explained.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Herry Purnama added, 10 personnel have been on standby at the location every night following the mayor's instructions. Then, they have put up warning banners to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

"I also ask all parties to participate in monitoring, including community involvement to keep the environment safe and conducive," he said.
