BPBD: Beware of Strong Winds in Jakarta and Seribu Islands Waters

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) calls on residents who live in coastal areas of Jakarta to be alert for tidal floods or called rob from November 25 to 26, 2025.

"BMKG Marine Meteorological Station Tanjung Priok warns of strong winds in Jakarta and the Seribu Islands waters," published early warning alerts from Jakarta BPBD on the Instagram account @bpbddkijakarta, Wednesday (11/26).

Therefore, residents and fishermen are urged to increase their awareness of the potential impact of strong winds expected to reach speeds of 20-25 knots or approximately 37-46 km/h (Beaufort scale 5-6) in the Seribu Islands waters.

BPBD Strengthens Community Readiness for Extreme Weather

Aside that, strong winds have the potential to cause various hazards, such as falling trees, falling billboards, or other damages in the surrounding area.

"Make sure to check the condition around the house, secure items outside, and avoid places that are risky such as under trees or unstable buildings," he furthered.

Seeing that, residents are appealed to continue monitoring the latest information regarding sea waves on the pages bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut.

"If you encounter an emergency that requires help, immediately contact the Jakarta Siaga Emergency Call 112," he stated.
