Dozens of SDN Kalibaru 01 Teachers and Students Receive Medical Treatment

Twenty students and one teacher from SDN Kalibaru 01 Pagi in Kalibaru, Cilincing, North Jakarta, who were victims of an accident involving a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) vehicle on the school premises, have received medical treatment at Cilincing Regional General Hospital (RSUD) and Koja RSUD.

All victims have been rushed to the hospital

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Murniasih Hutapea, stated that currently, 21 people struck by the MBG vehicle have received treatment, consisting of 20 students and one teacher.

"We rushed them to Cilincing RSUD and the Community Health Center (Puskesmas). As for five others were rushed to Koja RSUD to receive intensive care," she expressed, Thursday (12/11).

SDN 01 Kalibaru Teacher, the tragedy struck at approximately 7 AM as hundreds of pupils assembled for a routine literacy activity.

Witnesses heard the school gate collapse moments before a catering vehicle carrying free meal packages charged onto the field, striking students who were sitting on the ground.

"We moved quickly to evacuate the children because some were crushed by the vehicle. We also secured the driver immediately. All victims have been rushed to the hospital," he stated.
