Penyampaian hasil evaluasi Kemendagri dalam Rapat Pimpinan Gabungan (Rapimgab)

City Govt Pressed to Shift Budget for Education, Health

Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin, conveyed the results of the Home Ministry's evaluation regarding the Draft Bylaw on the City Budget (APBD) 2026, which was discussed in an executive meeting (Rapimgab).

In terms of the budget, everything is secure

From the discussion, there remain several important notes that require mutual attention.

He stated that one of the main points is the necessity of involving the leadership of the Budget Committee (Banggar) and commissions in the consultation process at the Home Ministry.

Legislative and Executive Committed to Increasing Teacher Salary

"The Home Ministry's evaluation, which we discussed together in the meeting, left several notes. First, it is indeed fitting that Budget Committee leaders, meeting chairs, or Budget Committee members be included in the consultation process at the Ministry," he expressed, Tuesday (12/16).

He ensured that, from a budgeting perspective, there are no significant issues. All mandatory spending provisions have been met, and the total budget remains as planned.

"In terms of the budget, everything is secure; mandatory spending is also met, everything is safe. Yes, and our budget has not changed; it remains at Rp 81.3 trillion," he explained.

However, Khoirudin emphasized the importance of optimizing the budget shifting facility with the central government as a strategy to cover the deficit caused by cuts in the Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH).

"One of our strategies to cover the shortfall due to the DBH is budget shifting. The budget we reallocate can be used to build Jakarta," he explained.

He also urged the Jakarta government and the executive branch to use this opportunity to the fullest, particularly to maintain the quality of basic services for the public.

"We requested that the local government, the executive, use this opportunity so that—primarily in education and health services—they can use these shifting funds, ensuring that services to the community are not disrupted," he concluded.
