E. Jakarta PPKUKM Partners with HIPMI to Manage Lokbin

East Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Sub-agency is partnering with the Indonesia Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) to manage fostered a business location (Lokbin).

"HIPMI also brings creative ideas that can support the growth of MSMEs in East Jakarta,"

East Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-agency Head, Andi Ahmad Refi, stated that the collaboration is a follow-up to HIPMI's meeting with East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin last week.

"We have MSME division that aligns with PPKUKM Sub-agency's program. HIPMI also brings creative ideas that can support the growth of MSMEs in East Jakarta," he said during a visit to Cililitan Lokbin on Tuesday (12/16).

Andi noted that several HIPMI's programs share common goals with PPKUKM's programs, such as supporting and providing assistance for MSMEs.

"There are 123 kiosks at Cililitan Lokbin, but only about 50 are currently active. We'll be discussing this in an internal meeting to find ways to activate the remaining kiosks," he explained.

Zahra Audila Mahdia Caropeboka, Head of East Jakarta HIPMI's Division X for MSME, Cooperatives, and Entrepreneurship, highlighted that HIPMI's role will focus on product curation, development, and training for MSMEs at the Lokbin.

"Product curation is needed to draw more visitors and boost consumer purchasing power. We'll also offer training and mentoring to MSMEs," she added.

Training will start in January next year, covering basic topics such as shop layout, product presentation, customer interaction, and improved bookkeeping.

"HIPMI is also active in the MSME sector, so we can share experiences, especially in branding. East Jakarta's MSME products have great potential," he mentioned.

On the other hand, Haryanto (42), a kiosk owner in Cililitan Lokbin who has been running a name tag business there for five years, welcomed the recent revitalization of the area, which has made it cleaner, brighter, and more comfortable.

"Hopefully Cililitan Lokbin gets even busier, so our sales can increase," he expressed.
