Rano Affirms Jakarta's Commitment to Developing Kota Tua

Jakarta Deputy Governor emphasized that Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to improving Kota Tua area. The improvement is targeted to complete inline with the completion of MRT construction in 2029.

During the inspection, Rano added, he received information that Beos Train Station in the Kota area is accessed by 1.3 million people every day.

Meanwhile, the MRT is projected to attract 500,000 daily passengers to the Kota Tua area. Adding in Transjakarta users, an estimated 2.5 million people travel through the Kota Tua area daily.

"This amount represents a potential that will impact the economy if managed properly. Therefore, the planning of the Kota Tua area must be measured and integrated," he added.

Rano continued that Kota Tua's improvement also includes the river revitalization.

Rano admitted will also prepare the formation of an institution that will be technically responsible for ensuring that the arrangement process proceeds according to plan.

The institution will also play a role in distributing responsibilities for the arrangement work.

"This shows that we are serious. The Governor has ordered me to seriously revitalize this area," he admitted.
