Fire on Jalan Lindung Successfully Extinguished

Personnel of North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency successfully extinguished fire incident on Jalan Lindung, RT 01/12, Pejagalan Urban Village, Penjaringan District.

We deployed 22 firetrucks with 110 personnel

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Gatot Sulaeman said the fire incident was reported on Thursday (12/18) at 8:13 PM by local residents. Then personnel were deployed and arrived at the scene by 8:19 PM.

Fire in Pegadungan Successfully Managed

"We deployed 22 firetrucks with 110 personnel," he said, Friday (12/19).

He explained that the fire was handled at 9:05 PM then continued the cooling stage up to Friday (12/19) 8:08 AM.

"The fire burned an empty house and two residential homes used as online accessory businesses selling straco flowers, bags, and vases. The total area was approximately 1,680 square meters," he explained.

According to him, the fire is suspected to have been triggered by electric car charging in the yard. Sparks from the vehicle ignited flammable materials used in the accessory manufacturing business, causing the fire to spread rapidly.

"There were five fatalities in this fire incident," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Pejagalan Urban Village, Tomi Haryono stated five victims who died have been evacuated and taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta for identification.

"The five victims were believed to be trapped inside. They included one elderly person, two adult women, one child, and one caregiver," he stated.
