Head of South Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency, Dedy Setiono said of the 225 cleaning personnel deployed on New Year's Eve, they managed to collect around 14.5 tons of trash.

"We transported 14.5 tons of waste from the Literasi Park, Blok M, the Sudirman area to other points where we placed personnel," he said, Friday (1/2).
He explained that inorganic waste that still has value is sorted and sold to vendors or waste banks. The proceeds from these sales generate income for the Implementing Units.
He added that type of organic waste are used as compost and some are processed using maggots.
Dedy appreciated the personnel in the field for restoring South Jakarta to its former cleanliness. In fact, to maintain cleanliness, personnel worked until the early morning.
"We also thank the community who are aware and care about the environment by throwing away trash in the right place," he admitted.
