Sunter Jaya PPSU Personnel Handle Inundation Responsively

Moderate to heavy rain that poured down on the North Jakarta area on Monday (1/12) morning caused a number of roads in Sunter Jaya Urban Village, Tanjung Priok District, to be flooded.

Head of Sunter Jaya Urban Villave, Eka Perselian Yeluma said her side deployed Orange personnel to handle inundation in several areas namely Jalan Yos Sudarso in front of PT Honda, Altira Building and up to in front of Arta Gading, Jalan Danau Sunter Utara, Jalan Sunter Kirana, Jalan Danau Sunter Selatan, and Jalan Danau Indah Raya.

"We deployed 30 Orange personnel," she said.

She added the personnel cleaned drainage from mud and trash that blocked the channel.

PPSU personnel also helped to manage traffic to prevent congestion and ensure vehicles can still pass safely. 

"The floodwaters reached a height of five to 10 centimeters," she added.

According to her, PPSU is also on standby in residential areas that often experience flooding during heavy rain.

"We will monitor the condition to ensure the water is fully recede," she continued.
