High Rainfall Raises Concerns Over Potential Dengue Spike

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has instructed the Health Agency to monitor the potential surge for dengue fever cases amid the current high rainfall. 

"...where cases tend to increase under rainfall conditions like this,"

He added that several areas, including West Jakarta and North Jakarta, typically become the most affected when rainfall levels are high.

"For dengue, there are always certain areas, especially in the west and north, where cases tend to increase under rainfall conditions like this," said Pramono at Duta Merlin Shopping Complex, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (1/20).

Despite the heightened risk, he stressed that dengue case management in Jakarta is running well. All health facilities operated by the city government are ready to provide the best possible services to the public. 

"Our facilities related to dengue, including auxiliary health centers, health centers and hospitals, are all in place for referrals," he noted.

In addition to dengue, Pramono also instructed the Health Agency to monitor developments related to Superflu in Jakarta. However, he confirmed that no Superflu cases in Jakarta to date.

"Alhamdulillah, there have been no Superflu cases in Jakarta so far, and hopefully it stays that way," he said.
