60 Firetrucks Handle Fire Incident in Pademangan IV

Personnel of North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency handled fire incident that burned seven used goods collectors' stalls on Jalan Pademangan IV Alley 8, RT 08/02, Pademangan Timur Urban Village, Tuesday (1/20).

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Gatot Sulaeman said the incident was reported at 10:40 AM when the fire already grew bigger.

He added the personnel were able to localize the fire at 11 AM and enter the cooling process at 11:20 AM.
"The extinguishing was completed at 12 PM. there were no fatalities in this incident," he added.
Based on preliminary results, the fire is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit in one of the stalls.
A local resident, Willy, stated he saw sparks emerging from a pile of scrap at one of the stalls. The fire quickly spread to other stalls due to strong winds.
"Thank you for the quick and professional response so that the fire could be handled properly without causing any casualties," he admitted.
