Two Fallen Trees in East Jakarta Successfully Evacuated

Two large trees fell in separate locations in East Jakarta on Thursday evening (1/22). The fallen trees evacuation continued into the evening.

East Jakarta Head Section of Green Line and Cemetery of City Parks and Cemetery Sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita said the two fallen trees were located on the side of the road and the riverbank. One of them fell on the roof of a long-vacated house.

Two Fallen Trees in East Jakarta Fully Removed

"These two trees fell yesterday afternoon during heavy rain and strong winds. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries," he said, Friday (1/23).

The two fallen trees were each a Kapok tree, approximately 80 centimeters in diameter and 10 meters tall. It fell in RT 01/05 Pulo Gebang, Cakung, during heavy rain.

"The location of the tree is on the edge of the river and it fell on the roof of an empty house belonging to a local resident," he added.

The second tree fell on Jalan Raya Bogor, Rambutan Urban Village, Ciracas District. The flamboyant tree, measuring approximately 110 centimeters in diameter and over 10 meters tall, fell, blocking the roadway.

To handle the evacuation at the two locations, his team deployed 12 personnel. They were also equipped with various equipment.
