Wali Kota Jakpus meninjau penanganan banjir di Jalan Letjen Suprapto

Arifin Reviews Inundation Handling in Cempaka Putih

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin, reviewed the inundation handling on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Cempaka Putih, Thursday (1/29).

The road contour is low

Arifin said the inundation on Jalan Letjen Suprapto was caused by extreme rainfall that fell from Wednesday (1/28) night until Thursday (1/29) today.

Three Pumps Deployed to Handle Inundation in Rawa Terate

"The road contour is low. It is often flooded when it rains heavily," he said.

He added that to handle the flooding at this location, the party operates stationary, mobile and floating pumps, as well as making crossing channels and building reservoirs at ITC Cempaka Mas.

"Mobile and floating pumps are deployed to flow water in ITC Cempaka Mas embankment," he added.

He continued that his party also deployed 11 tank trucks from the Parks and Forestry Sub-agency to drain the puddles on the road to Sunter River.

"One lane of the road can be crossed by motorized vehicles by this afternoon," he continued.

According to him, his party will add one stationary pump at the ITC Cempaka Mas reservoir to channel water from the ITC Cempaka reservoir to the Utan Kayu River by this year.

"This year we add one stationary pump to maximize the output," he stated.
