Gubernur Pramono menerima kunjungan YouTube di Balai Kota DKI Jakarta, Kamis (29/1)

Jakarta Government-YouTube Collaboration Strengthens Education and Mental Health

Jakarta City Council's Commission E Member, Farah Savira fully supports the collaborative program between the Jakarta Provincial Government and YouTube in strengthening the education, mental health, and media literacy sectors through the launch of the Digital Alert Children and Families (AKSI) program.

This supervision is very important

Farah provided several inputs to ensure the program's productive and effective implementation. According to her, the primary focus is the type of intervention implemented to ensure the program's targets are truly achieved.

"For example, do children receive regular training, not only for students, but also for teachers?" she said, Saturday (1/31).

Farah also encouraged the AKSI program to be considered as local content or specific material to be implemented in Jakarta. She believes Jakarta has a strategic role as a pioneer in developing education policies and programs at the national level.

She hopes this program will open up opportunities for collaboration with other digital platforms, not just YouTube. She believes platforms like TikTok and Instagram have a faster and broader reach among children and teens.

On the other hand, she emphasized the importance of stricter oversight by digital platforms regarding user age restrictions. This is crucial to prevent children from accessing age-inappropriate or inappropriate content, such as content containing violence, intimidation, or bullying.

"This supervision is very important, considering the increasing number of cases occurring in the school environment, both involving teachers and between students," she stated.

Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, explained that the collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and YouTube includes training in creating educational content that has begun at SMK Negeri 27 Jakarta, as well as providing mental health education to around 2,500 teachers and teenagers.

The AKSI program aims to empower the school and family ecosystem in Jakarta to be able to explore the digital world safely, productively, and responsibly, in line with the vision and mission of regional character development.
