Land Claimmed by PT KAI, Park Construction Delayed

The attempt of North Jakarta Administration constructing Child-Friendly Public Spaces (RPTRA) in Karapan Sapi Park or Volker Park meets an obstacle. It is because, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) claimmed the 25 hectare land.

It is still under investigation by Park and Cemetery Department and Head of Local Management Assets (KPAD)

“It is still under investigation by Park and Cemetery Department and Head of Local Management Assets (KPAD). Since PT KAI claimmed that land is theirs,” said Head of Public and Women Empowerment for North Jakarta Social Welfare, Tuti Kusnaeni, Wednesday (7/29).

According to her, PT Pelindo who is acting as funder of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for RPTRA’s construction, requesting clarity Volker park status. The effort aims to prevent any obstacles found during the construction.

Meanwhile, Head of North Jakarta Local Management Asset, Bakti Irawan acknowledged that North Jakarta National Land Agency (BPN) revealed that indeed there is a certificate issued belongs to PT KAI No.71/1988 against 25,976 square meters land.

“That’s the latest information from BPN.  We will back to coordinate with BPN related the visual of 25 hectare land,” he uttered.

Besides, his side will re-investigate over inventory data that being reported by North Jakarta Park and Cemetery Sub-Department regarding the status of 3.3 hectare leasing land area in Volker Park.

“If PT KAI willing to rent that land to City Administration then we will process the administration, or we will find other locations,” he disclosed.
