Dozens of Illegal Buildings in Ancol Dismantled

Dozens of semi-permanent buildings including kiosks and chicken cages in Pademangan, North Jakarta, demolished by officers in a communal work or operasi semut, Sunday (8/2).

Illegal building is strictly prohibited because of prone to accident

"Actually, the demolishment is the authority of PT KAI, but we educate citizen in maintaining and care about cleanliness," told Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Isnawa Aji, Sunday (2/8).

Aji said, according to train rule on the surveillance and security of railroad track, every railroad must be sterile from illegal buildings. That is why, the track must be sterile from illegal buildings.

70 Buildings Alongside KBB Demolished

"Illegal building is strictly prohibited because of prone to accident," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Head of Pademangan Sub-District, Yusuf Madjid said 8 dump trucks have been deployed to transport the debris of buildings in the field. "Those trucks are from Pademangan Sub-District Cleanliness Section and North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department," he explained.
