Ahok will Go Down Ciliwung River on Independence Day

To commemorate the 70th Independence Day, the Jakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya) and Jakarta Provincial Government will hold people's party in form of Ciliwung Festival. As planned, the event will be held on August 14. 

Eventually during the competition, the Governor, Minister, Pangdam Jaya, Police Chiefs and other related officials will go down the river using rubber boat to observe the people's party

In the party, Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama was scheduled to go down the river using a rubber boat along with Public Works Minister Mochamad Basuki Hadimuljono, Jakarta Military Commander Agus Sutomo, and Chief of Jakarta City Police Ir. Gen Tito Karnavian. 

Head of Kodam Jaya, Col. Inf. Heri Prakosa stated the party is designed by Kodam Jaya cooperating with the Government. It is held along the riverbank, both in East Jakarta and South Jakarta. Precisely staring from behind of Rindam Jaya until behind of Kalibata Indah. Kinds competition held are gebuk bantal (pillow fighting), panjat pinang (greasy-pole climbing) and other typical competitions for welcoming Indonesia's Anniversary.

"Eventually during the competition, the Governor, Minister, Pangdam Jaya, Police Chiefs and other related officials will go down the river using rubber boat to observe the people's party," explained  Prakosa, Tuesday (8/4). 

His party appealed citizens to be order in participating on the competition, for their convenience and safety. But the important is, they have to be discipline, not to litter the river thus it will stay clean.
