400 Buildings Stood Atop Jalan Kemayoran Gempol Torn Down

Kemayoran Sub-Distric Head, Hery Purnama conveyed the buildings are very disturbing public order, especially street vendor activity at night.

Starting yesterday, we have deployed 30 Satpol PP officers to safeguard the area from street vendors as local residents feel uneasy,” he reported.

Purnama admitted that his side has yet to find a relocation place for 400 street vendors. Initially, they would be relocated to the Laler Alley at RW 06, yet the land would be transformed into building of Central Jakarta Resort Police.

Another solution is the vendors were planned to be relocated to an empty land owned by Kemayoran Complex Management Center (PPKK), but there must be coordination with State Secretariat first. “That's why there is still no certainty,” he explained.
