A Shop House Worth Rp 4 B Demolished

An illegal three-story shop house worth Rp 4 billion on Jalan Swadaya, No 106, RT 006/10, Wijaya Kusuma Urban Village, West Jakarta, torn down. 

Previously, the building was demolished manually and sealed. But, it was broken by the owner and re-opened

During demolishment, a conflict between officer and citizen had occurred. The locals brought the RT head and some mass organizations to thwart the demolishment.

To officer, Apin, a building owner threatened to report the case to Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). But he had no choice when Head of West Jakarta Urban Planning Department, Fajar gave a warning letter and demolishment photos last June.

" Previously, the building was demolished manually and sealed. But, it was broken by the owner and re-opened ," he told.

Fajar disclosed, the warning letter had been sent to the owner in May 2015. But it was ignored.

"Hence, we had to involve department to control the building," he expressed.

Finally, the building could be demolished by Satpol PP, Police and army officers.
