20 Marunda Flat Residents Participating in Batik Training

North Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department along with Jakarta National Handicraft Board (Dekranasda) is holding a batik training (Batik printing)  in B Cluster B of Marunda Flat. It is joined by 20 women in Marunda Flat, Cilincing.

The participant looks enthusiastic. We put forward the Betawi motif

Head of North Jakarta Industry and Energy, Tuti Kurnia explained the training has been going on since two weeks ago. 

"The participant looks enthusiastic. We put forward the Betawi motif,” told Kurnia, Monday (8/24).

City will Persuade Pinangsia Residents to Move into Marunda Flat

To Flat Management Unit (UPRS) Regional 1 for Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Department, she sent a proposal that saying the Batik artisans and others to be given a decent place on the ground floor, likewise with gemstone and layette artisans on the fourth floor. Thus they could improve their creativity well.

"I saw there are three empty rooms on the ground floor that could be used as an artisan workshop," she exclaimed.

Previously, Head of Jakara National Handicraft Board, Veronica Tan claimed that her side would keep developing Betawi motif which dominated by ondel-ondel, Monas, and ketoprak cart.

In future, her side intends to launch Jakarta flora and fauna motif, such as kerak nasi flower, tapak dara flower, melati gambir flower, kembang teleng flower, flamboyan flower, and Jakarta rare fauna as elang bondol, bulus, butterfly and kipasan belang bird.
