Nutrition Observation Keeps Being Intensified in Seribu Islands

The counselling about Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and nutritional food to Seribu Islands residents should be intensified.

There are many factor of malnutrition. It could be caused by the parents who are less painstaking in feeding their children

"The education should keep being intensified to mothers, thus children's nutrition could be improved. Observe the improvement, including the family's lifestyle," said Seribu Islands Regent, Budi Utomo, responding the case of malnourished infants in Pari Island, Thursday (8/27).

He was surprised knowing the number of malnourished infants in Pari Island is three infants. Whereas, the living standart in Seribu Islands begins to get better with the increase of tourism sector.

Seribu Islands Dukcapil Held Binduk Operation

"There are many factor of malnutrition. It could be caused by the parents who are less painstaking in feeding their children," he expressed.

He disclosed, the Community Health Service (Puskesmas) had conducted observation and analysis toward malnourished infants. As a result, one child was caused by economic factor, one by acute respiratory infection (ISPA) and one by lack of nutritional food.

"For ISPA, it could be caused by the neighborhood, as for lack of nutritional food, it could be caused by the parents who are less painstaking to feed the children," he finished.
