UNHCR Asked to Record Evacuees In Jakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government asked United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Indonesia, to watch and record the evacuee existence, especially from Rohingya who roaming around in the city. 

 But for the safety, will keep coordinating with the related institute

"It's actually the central government's business. The provincial government only keeps maintaining the evacuees' life. But for the safety, will keep coordinating with the related institute," he explained after opening the coordination meeting about the Rohingya evacuees existence in Jakarta, at City Hall, Monday (8/31).

Basuki Reminded SKPD Not to Be Afraid of LSM

UNHCR Indonesia representative Mr. Jefri conveyed his apology about the matter, currently there are about 36 evacuees in Jakarta. Part of them are in community houses which are spread in 4 areas, including Tebet, South Jakarta. 

"They are already have UNHCR card as evacuee, we've also already told them to obey rules in Jakarta," he explained. 

As known, a couple times ago, there were 2 evacuees found by Satpol PP roaming around in the city. Besides that, one of them also sent a letter asking for Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama's attention.
