Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (PKP) Department is holding socialization about fire handling and prevention in Jatinegara Barat Flat, East Jakarta, Monday (9/14).

Head of Empowerment and Community Participation Division for Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department, Rimawati stated the socialization is a form of fire anticipation. Because handling fire between in residence and flat is different.
"In the old residence, citizen could run everywhere but in flat they should understand the evacuation way," she explained.
Snack Center in Jatinegara Barat Flat Starts OperatingPKP Department also conveyed materials about safety management of building fire (MKKG). The residents were also taught how to use fire extinguishers and towel for extinguishing the fire.
"If the RT/RW are already formed, we will form the MKKG team from residence. For now we have taught simple technical to do fire extinguishing and call firemen if fire happens," she disclosed.
Amri, (35), a resident of block B on the 4th floor claimed he was glad about the socialization. Because of that, residents are trained to face fire incident.
"After being trained, we know how to put out fire using wet towel. All this time, most of us just panicked if fire happens," he expressed.
