October, MCB Separator is Scheduled to Be Installed

City Bina Marga to set busway separator using Movable Concrete Barrier (MCB) in the next October. The barrier will be installed permanently along 18 kilometers in Transjakarta bus lane up to this year.

“The auction process is still progressing. The physical construction is slated to conduct next month,” said Yudi Febriyadi, Road and Bridge Development Head Section for City Bina Marga Department, Thursday (9/17).

The separator has 60 centimeter tall by 40 centimeter width. “Hope it could reduce violation on Transjakarta lane,” he hoped.

A huge budget amounted Rp 15 billion have been allocated for installation project. “15 billion for 18 kilometers installation,” he uttered.

After auction completion, Febriyadi added the separator installation will be discussed together with PT Transjakarta to determine which paths and corridors to be installed with MCB. "PT Transjakarta will determine which location. We just do our part for tender process," he expressed.

Currently, many separator Transjakarta bus lines that have been damaged or lost. Some damage corridors are Corridor 1 (Terminal Blok M-Kota Station) and corridor 8 (Terminal Lebak Bulus-Harmoni).

“We prioritize corridor 1 & 8. Those two corridors are considered harmful as many separator separated,” he disclosed.
