Trash Trickle Around West Flood Canal

Trash scatered around in West Flood Canal (KBB) staring from Jalan Sultan Agung in Halimun intersection to in front of Rumput market, South Jakarta.

Normally, there are 15 people clean the channel. But since early September no one take care of it

 

Relaying on Beritajakarta.com observation trash dominated with plastic material. The condition is worrying and can trigger flooding.

Dede (23), a keeper of Halimun railway crossing conveyed there is no officer clean that river since last three weeks.

 

“Normally, there are 15 people clean the channel. But since early September no one take care of it,” he said, Tuesday (9/22).

 

Sutisna (33) cleanliness officer at Manggarai sluice gate admitted the officer seems to have problem with current river condition  that shallowing.

 

“The water is run out, the trash has solid with mud. Trash begin to pile up at night concerning so many residents still littering,” he disclosed.
