Approaching Long Weekend, 90 Percent Train Tickets Sold Out

The long holiday weekend of Idul Adha that falls on Thursday (9/24)-Sunday (9/28), will apparently be used by Jakartans for a vacation out of town. No wonder, train tickets with destination to some cities in West, Central, and East Java have been sold out.

To anticipate passenger surge, PT KAI Daops 1 has prepared additional train

According to Bambang Setiyo Prayitno, Head of Public Relation for PT KAI Operation Area (Daops) I, about 90percent of train departure from Pasar Senen and Gambir Stations dated on September 22-24 were sold out.

"Gambir Station for instance, from 28 trips heading to east, only leaving 10 percent of train departure on September 22. There are trains that have been prepared, starting from Argo Dwipangga (Solo Balapan), Argo Sindoro and Argo Muria (Semarang Tawang), Argo Jati (Cirebon), as well as Argo Parahyangan (Bandung)," he reported, Tuesday (9/22).

While for departure from Pasar Senen Station, from 27 departures, it shows 100 percent of occupancy from September 22-24, except Menoreh train with destination to Semarang Tawang dated on September 24, that is still 65 percent.

"To anticipate passenger surge, PT KAI Daops 1 has prepared additional train," he told.

PT KAI urges to anticipate unwanted things, the ticket booking uses the original ID card or SIM. His side also suggests the train candidates not to buy ticket through broker.
