The joint personnel of Satpol PP and Infrastructure and Public Facility Handling (PPSU) demolished at least 17 illegal stalls alongside Jalan Tanah Abang IV, Petojo Selatan Urban Village, Gambir.

Petojo Selatan Urban Village Head, Kamal acknowledged the 17 illegal stalls were demolished due to standing on water channel. Besides, the owners often put their merchandise haphazardly that led to road narrowed.

“ We’ve warned the owners to immediately demolish stall by themselves, but they ignored it. Most of them are selling food and beverage ,” he voiced, Saturday (9/26).

After demolishment, he continued, the area will soon be re-arranged. And then continued with normalization and kanstin along sidewalk would be improved.

“The arrangement is a must, because it could trigger flooding in future. We also urged local residents not to build more buildings on the channel, "he finished.
