Basuki Wants RPTRA to Be Built in Panggang Island

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama instructed Seribu Islands Regent to build Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) in Panggang Island. As concerning the island is the most densely populated area than other 10 islands in Seribu Islands.

“There must be a public space in Panggang Island to prosper residents’ economic and social because there are a lot of knowledge in public space," he said, when he inaugurated the Amiterdam RPTRA in Untung Jawa Island, Saturday (10/10).

According to him, the dense population and limited land could be resolved by purchasing locals' houses or lands.

"Near Mosque, I saw some lands could be acquired for public space. I believe we can do it," he uttered.

As known, at this time, Panggang Island has been densely populated. Even residents must do some traditional reclamation just to build a house due to limited land. Not a few that have been demolished by the local government for breaking the rules.
