South Jakarta Sub-dept. of Water Management dredged Grogol River in Pondok Labu Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-District, South Jakarta. The effort aims to prevent flood during rainy season.

We targeted to finish the work within two weeks

Deddy Budiwidodo, head of the agency, said the dredging must be run since the river is shallowing and the water flooded the surrounding area.

"We targeted to finish the work within two weeks," he said, Thursday (10/8).

One heavy equipment is deployed to assist the work. The river's depth will be also deepened.

"The depth will be added up to three meters," he disclosed.
