City Gears Up to Set Solar Power Plant in Three Conservation Islands

Jakarta Industry and Energy Department (DPE) is about to build a solar power plant (PLTS) project in three conversation islands in Seribu Islands. According to the plan, the construction is slated in next 2016.

Mr. Governor asked solar power plant to be applied in three conversation islands namely, Onrust, Kelor, Cipir Island,” said Elisabeth Ratu, RA Head Section of Electricity, Oil and Gas Energy Management for Jakarta DPE, Friday (10/16).

Ratu stated the solar power system is deemed more efficient yet saving much cost rather than using under sea electricity installation.

Governor Asks PLN Remains Supply Electricity to Pump House

“Moreover, those islands are unihabitated Island. That’s why it doesn’t necessary to use electricity from PLN (State electricity owned company). This solar power indeed purposed for unreached location by PLN,” he expressed.

Her side is planning to build solar power plant in over 150 spots. The solar power can function to light pier, road and boat transit site.

“That’s our priority. Those three islands have not any network so better to use solar power plant. Hope we can realize it next year,” she closed.
