Residents living in RW 03, Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, West Jakarta, are requesting Jakarta Water Management Department to dredge the Apuran River. River sediment been piled up for ages, causing water volume decrease.

Mudasir acknowledged the dredging work had been socialized in early 2015. At that moment, he and other RT chiefs agreed to apply demolishment plan if the government intends to widen river.
“We agree it to eliminate slums and smoothen fire truck flow. Considering our village is dense and prone to fire,” he uttered.
Meanwhile, Head of Cengkareng Timur Urban Village, Agus Mulyadi conveyed that his side has repeatedly reported such matter to West Jakarta Water Management and Bina Marga Sub-Departments.
"But until now, it has not been responded. Moreover, we do not have authority to dredge the river," he admitted.
Relaying on Beritajakarta.com's observation, the river which has five meters wide is full of trash and mud.
