Local tax revenue from public transactions this year decrease about 10-20 percent compared than previous year. This was because consumer purchasing ability is low.

“The decrease drop about 10-20 percent compared than last year,” said Edi Sumantri, Section Head of Planning and Developing for Head of Jakarta Tax Service Department at City Hall, Wednesday (10/28).

Sumantri pointed out local tax revenue has decreased due to the decreasing of residents purchasing ability on land and building acquisition fees (BPHTB), vehicle-ownership transfer fees (BBNKB) and billboards.

" BBNKB and BHTB tax revenue decrease because the purchasing ability of land property and the building drop," he told.

However, he continued the reason of decrease of residents purchasing ability due to the affect of weak economy growth in Indonesia.

Something similar, also occurred on advertisement tax revenues which decreased after the ban on cigarette advertising in advertisement tax.

"Tax from cigarette adds has quite big amount," he disclosed.
