Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama claimed that several preparations to face flood this year have been prepared. One of them is by dredging water channel in the capital. By doing so, puddle will be more quickly receding.

He also believes the water flow system in the city will be getting better. Noted, there are 13 river streams and 800 connecting rivers spread in Jakarta.

"So, all micro and macro rivers are connected now, all problems solved with integrated channel," he uttered.

He also prepares pumps at some points. If the water cannot flow, it can be disposed.

“And we also install pump deeply. As you can see, the Ancol and Ria Rio Reservoirs have lower water discharge because we’ve observed it,” he stressed.

Another location is in Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta. However, there are still leak sheet piles. “We keep cleaning it, we’ve test pump.

He added the same condition also seen in Gunung Sahari area, Central Jakarta. But there are still found leak sheet piles, because 63 kilometers of sheet pile has not been covered. It is still under improvement,” he asserted.
