Basuki Heran Proyek ITF Tak Kunjung Jalan

Basuki Wants ITF Project to Be Built Soon

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama admitted he wondered why Intermediate Treatment Facilities (ITF) project has not been done. Whereas, with this facility, Jakarta will no longer rely on Bantargebang Landfill, Bekasi.

We want to re-construct an incenerator (processing facilities site) or ITF which always fails

"We want to re-construct an incenerator (processing facilities site) or ITF which always fails. Over three years from tenure of Mr. Jokowi, we wanted to develop it, but fail again. I don't know why," he said, at City Hall, Tuesday (11/3).

Pari Island Residents Need Incenerator

Former Regent of East Belitung mentions if the project fails again, Jakarta will continue to rely on Bantargebang Landfill. As a matter of fact, he suspected there is playing behind trash management in such location.

"I don't know the motive is. If the ITF is not constructed, we will rely on Bantargebang Landfill continuously," he expressed.

The city administration also has purchased a land in Ciangir Village, Legok Sub-District, Tangerang Regency, as an alternative of trash disposal. But this time, the permit was also stopped. It was originally designated as a trash disposal site.

He also decided not to involve private side in its construction, yet he appointed PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) becomes the new developer. The facility uses incenerator technology, which has reduced trash up to 90 percent and gas emission.

There are at least four locations for ITF project. They are Sunter, Cakung-Cilincing, Marunda and Duri Kosambi. Its land width in Cakung-Cilincing is eight hectare, which is larger than ITF Sunter. It had ever been managed as trash disposal site that called as Compost Recycling Centre (PDUK). Then it would be elevated through ITF program.

As for the ITF Marunda, is able to process trash up to 1,500 tons per day. Its construction is slated to be placed on a 12-hectare land and is an integrated part of the Special Economic Zones Marunda.
