Basuki Slated to Meet Bekasi Mayor Over Trash Transportation

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama, is about to visit Bekasi Mayor, Rahmat Effendi regarding trash transportation problem to Bantar Gebang Landfill.

According to the plan, the meeting would be conducted this week and is hoped the problem could find a solution. The governor and mayor will discuss on operational of trash transportation. Thus far, Bekasi has allowed dump truck belongs to Jakarta government passing by 24 hours, eventhough it is temporary.

In future, he will self-manage trash transportation. As concerning private's trash management is deemed unoptimal. Aside that, Jakarta government intends to build trash management based on Intermediate Treatment Facilities (ITF) technology, to reduce trash volume in Bantargebang Landfill.

“Our long-term solution is by building ITF technology,” he told.

His party has asked every market could manage their own trash.  “I demand PD Pasar Jaya to build trash management system. We're still looking for the right location for it,” he uttered.

By doing so, trash volume in Jakarta could save budget.
