BPBD Sets 8 Detectors of Flood Early Warning

In facing flood during rainy season, Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) sets 8 detector units of flood early warning.

This detector also connected in Smart City

Those units comprising of 6 units of Automatic Weather Station (AWS) and two units of High Tide Warning (HTW) which distributed in 5 municipalities, and Seribu Island Regency.

Flood Predictably Still Happens in 125 Urban Villages

Bambang Surya Putra, Head of Information and Control for Jakarta BPBD conveyed AWS' function to measure rainfall also wind speed.

“It can give early warning against potential prone to fall tree,” he uttered, Monday (11/23).

While HTW has a function to measure tidal waves during tidal flood. Each detectors will be integrated with command center of Operational Control Center Jakarta BPBD.

“Control center will send short message also broadcast it to RW head, urban village ranks which area affected in case of tidal waves potential,” he stated.

Head Information of Jakarta BPBD, Helma Dahlia added 6 HWS’s put in each mayor offices and Seribu Islands Regency office, while HTW installed respectively one unit in Cilincing, North Jakarta and Tidung Island, Seribu Islands.

“This detector also connected in Smart City,” he disclosed.
