As many as 20 buildings standing on water channel in front of Inpres Pondok Bambu Market and on Jalan Cipinang Muara I, Pondok Bambu Urban Village, tore down by 30 officers of Duren Sawit Sub-District Satpol PP, Monday (11/30). 

Due to ignorance, we had to tear down the buildings

Head of Satpol PP Duren Sawit Sub-District, Santoso disclosed the demolishment was initially slated on Wednesday (12/2). 

"This is actually not acceleration and administration. Bambu Pondok Urban Village Head had notify and send warning letters to the building owners. Due to ignorance, we had to tear down the buildings," he stressed.

Additionally, he stated, his side also tear down an inrit (manhole channel). Besides covering water channel, the buildings also often disturb traffic flow in both locations.

"Afterwards, PPSU officer immediately cleaned up and dredged the channel and help Satpol PP to transport building material debris," he expressed.

Head of Pondok Bambu Urban Village, Dody Taruna disclosed, demolishment process was accelerated to hinder leakage. "After that, the officer then put flower pots on roadsides as street vendor anticipation," he disclosed.
