Dead Fish Phenomenon Has Not Impacted Seribu Islands Waters

Extreme climate change has not yet impact fish ecosystem in Seribu Islands waters.

“The main reason is due to extreme weather change, but it hasn’t impacted in Seribu islands,” said Achmad Cholik, Head of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Department (KPKP), Tuesday (12/1).

During this far, there is no official results of the cause of death of thousands of fish in the northern coast of Jakarta. This will be very useful to protect floating net cage in Seribu Island waters.

“We’re looking forward for its result. Hoped it not affect much to Seribu Islands,” he expressed.

As previously, Seribu Islands Environment Management Office (KLH) believed the phenomenon of dead fish due to polluted river carried by streamside in 13 rivers in Jakarta. This causes a chemical process that results in a lack of fish breathe oxygen.
