Recently, he disclosed, the House of Representative (DPR) did not give permission Kemayoran land use which is planned would be built an athletes village by Jakarta Provincial Government. Whereas, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) wanted the accommodation facilities for Asian Games participants concentrated in one location.

Basuki: Let OCA Know That We're Not Ready to Be Asian Games Host

Previously, he has instructed PT Jakarta Propentindo to build the athletes village in Kemayoran. Following DPR refusal, he withdrew PT Jakpro to conduct the construction.

"I have ordered PT Jakpro to cancel it," he stressed.

Ahok suspected such refusal is due to Kemayoran Center Business Complex (PPK) conducting lobbying. They want the land for commercial. While he plans the flat that still being constructed will be designed to the lower-income people after Asian Games implementation.
