Residents Hoped Sheet Pile in Pesanggrahan River

Citizens living in RT 08 and 10, RW 05 Perdatam Housing Complex, Ulujami, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta hoped the government to immediately build a 900-meter sheet pile on Pesanggarahan River. All this time, citizen residential often flooded due to overflowing waters from the river.

Chairman of RT 10/05, Ulujami Urban Village, Hadi Kresno said due to unavailable sheet pile, flood often hits his residential due to overflowing waters of Pesanggrahan River. Even, water level had touched two meters.

"Our citizen hoped the sheet pile could be built here," he expressed, Sunday (12/13).

Grogol River's Sheet Pile Damage

He disclosed, two years ago, locals had sent a proposal to Mayor of South Jakarta regarding sheet pile installation, but until now it has not been realized.

Meanwhile, Didin (50), a citizen of RT 10/05 who serves as a volunteer at the pump house near Perdatam Complex, expressed the floods as high as one meter that hit RW 05 area in Ulujami Urban Village, Saturday (12/12), has receded.

He disclosed, pump in Perdatam is owned by Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC), which is built since 2003. In 2009, it was malfunctioned due to community self-sufficiency stopped. In three months ago, he continued, it was been replaced by BBWSCC with second machine.

"But I can't operate the machine because we have no solar," he exclaimed.
