Djarot: Please Raid Unroadworthy Metromini Intensively

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat instructed Jakarta Transportation Department to intensify raiding unruly metro mini public bus in Jakarta. It is following traffic accident involving Metromini public bus that caused casualties on Wednesday (12/16) morning.

If it is still repeated, we will revoke its operational permit,

"The raid along with police must be propagated. When finding the offender, the metromini will be grounded. If it is still repeated, we will revoke its operational permit," asserted Djarot, Wednesday (12/16).

He disclosed that this must be done in order to maintain safety of passenger and road user. In future, public transport revitalization through rupiah per kilometer system could be applied.

Basuki: Crack Them Down

"All this time, they still use setoran system (set fee). That's why, they are inconsiderate, but it is different with rupiah per kilometer system where we pay them," he stressed.

Previously, around 6 AM, a Metromini B 92 crashed into a road user on Jalan Meruya Utara, Kembangan, West Jakarta. One of victims, Azam (7) was died and his mother, Muntiasi (37), a citizen of RT 02/06, Meruya Utara, Kembangan, had severe injuries.
