Djarot Wants Neglected Open Space lands Used For Productive Crop

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat asked local residents to utilize the neglected open space lands for productive crop. As conducted by a farmer group in Semanan Urban Village, Kalideres who succeed to harvest onions on empty land belongs to private company and earned Rp 140 billion.

Djarot stated there are about 135 hectares of land neglected in West Jakarta used as agriculture and 30 hectares as vegetable garden.

β€œI want the empty open space lands to be utilized well, instead of neglected,” he expressed, Wednesday (12/16).

He expected productive crop could be developed in residential area through hydroponic farming technology. To support it, he instructed the Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Department to provide a sustainable fertilizer.

Later on, the results of agribusiness in Jakarta will directly be accommodated by PD Pasar Jaya and Tjipinang Food Station. Thus, food availability can be maintained and it does not trigger inflation.

β€œThe high inflation in Jakarta will influence areas all over Indonesia. That's why we have to minimize its growth,” he finished.
